Hand-built in London at Mulliner Park Ward between 1971 and 1995, the Rolls-Royce Corniche was developed from the two-door Silver Shadow and powered by Rolls-Royce’s 6.75-litre V8. Every car was finished by hand, and waiting lists in the 1970s and 80s ran so long that some buyers sold their new Corniche the moment it arrived, for more than they’d paid.
The name comes from the French for a coastal cliff road, most famously the Grande Corniche above Monaco, and it suited a car built for exactly that kind of glamour.

The open-top design suits a baraat particularly well. The groom stays visible to family and friends throughout the procession rather than hidden behind glass, and the same applies to the couple’s departure afterwards, giving everyone a proper send-off and photographers a much better angle.
